Since it’s a hard rubber comb it is very polite to the scalp: once you try one you’ll never get back to plastic.

With the demise of rubber comb manufacture in the United States, fortunately there is still a source for high quality combs.

Have used Saegemann combs for over 40years and make sure never to run out of any. I even convinced my girlfriendsto switch

Not quite as thick as the Ace hard rubber combs of old, but a much gentler alternative to the current Made in China Ace and other plastic combs available.

Durable, combs hair perfect and lives up to it’s reputation. Sad that very few if any U.S manufacturers use this vulcanized process anymore.

I was thrilled to find a men’s pocket comb made of hard rubber now that Ace is no longer producing quality combs. However, that being said, I have some issues with this comb.
The biggest problem is that it’s too thin. That causes a possible issue with long term durability, but what it really means is that the teeth are sharp! It feels like you’re combing your hair with slightly blunted needles. I never had that problem with the original Ace combs. In addition, the teeth are also sharp enough to rip a hole in any pocket you keep this comb in, over time.
The second issue is that the spine of the comb isn’t nicely rounded the way Ace combs used to be, but is ground with a flat edge, which means the spine has two uncomfortable edges as you hold and use the comb.
This was supposed to be a premium comb – the best of the best – but I’m less than impressed. If you have an original hard rubber Ace comb that finally broke and you’re looking for a replacement, this is more of a stepping stone to hold you off while you look for something better, rather than a proper replacement.
Comare (aka Belson) makes a comb (Model # C333163) which is equivalent to the original Ace hard rubber combs (it’s made by the same manufacturer of the original Ace combs!). The only problem is that it’s designed for stylists, so it’s 9″ long.

My Father-in-law loves this comb! I ordered two for his birthday and he loves it. He has beautiful curly salt and pepper hair and it really helps him with his daily styling.

For a great many years it was my habit to always carry a hard rubber pocket comb made by ACE in a hip pocket. They eventually stopped making them; which I unhappily discovered while trying to find a replacement a couple years after they ceased production. However, then I found this one, a terrific alternative. The real deal. They are made by Hercules Sägemann. Not quite as substantial as the Ace of old, but very much worth the price.
Realize though, that as with any hard rubber comb, it can break if put under too much pressure, for example when awkwardly sat upon on a hard surface, and teeth can break loose eventually as well. But that is the way it has always been with hard rubber combs. I break maybe one a year, though recently it was two in one week. So I always keep a small supply of 5 inch “HS600 Gents Grooming Combs” squirreled away, and order more as needed. Been buying these off-and-on from this web site for quite a while now; reliable, quick service.
It would be wise to order a couple, rather than just one.

my husband has been searching for a quality hard rubber comb and was absolutely delighted to find the combs in his Christmas stocking. Now that we know where to get them, we will be back. But then again, since they are good, maybe not so often.

I have been having problems with the comb teeth quickly breaking in my pocket on previous combs. Many times the first day. I’ve carried this comb now for two weeks and no problem. From the design and texture of the material I expect no problems. An excellent product.

Plastic pocket combs are painful to use. The HS600 Gents Grooming Comb is a terrific rubber pocket comb. It glides through my hair without scratching my scalp. The improvement in feel allows me to comb until I am satisfied with my result. This comb is easy on my hair as well. It does not pull my hair out. The price is only slightly more than the very inferior plastic combs I have used.
I hope Hotcombs will make one with only finely spaced teeth.
Great product; thoroughly worth the money.

I enjoy the hercules Sagemann quality of this comb while also benefiting from its compactness. I store my comb in small make-up bag and use it to keep my edges smooth and in place.
